ND-NTU Optical Turbidity & Temperature Sensor

What is the ND-NTU? The ND-NTU is a precision optical turbidity and temperature sensor for continuous water quality monitoring. The optical 90° nephelometric method delivers measurements from 0 to 4000 NTU (or 0–4500 mg/L suspended solids) with better than 5 % accuracy — ideal for outdoor remote monitoring, urban and industrial wastewater, surface water, sea water, fish farming and drinking water systems connected to the yDoc ML-525 datalogger.

Applications

Where the ND-NTU is used

Outdoor remote monitoring

Long-term unattended turbidity monitoring in remote watercourses and reservoirs.

Urban wastewater treatment

Influent and effluent turbidity for treatment plant control and discharge monitoring.

Industrial effluent

Compliance monitoring of industrial process water and discharge to receiving waters.

Surface & sea water

Environmental monitoring of rivers, lakes, estuaries and coastal waters.

Aquaculture

Water clarity monitoring for fish farming, aquariums and shellfish operations.

Integration

Powered by the yDoc ML-525 datalogger

The ND-NTU connects directly to the yDoc ML-525 datalogger. The yDoc powers the sensor, schedules measurements, stores readings locally and transmits them to the Sensor-Online platform via 4G/LTE-M, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, satellite or Ethernet — with up to 10 years of battery life.
