Private LoRaWAN server
Your own LoRaWAN network, built into Sensor-Online
Run public, private or hybrid LoRaWAN networks from one platform. Your gateways, your sensors and your data, with ready-made decoders, dashboards and alarms on top.
500+ customers · 100,000+ active sensors · Trusted by Akademiska Hus, Vattenfall, LKAB and HSB
Sensors and gateways
LoRaWAN sensors send data to the gateways you choose.
LoRaWAN server
Built in. Handles activation, security and routing.
Sensor-Online
Decodes, stores and monitors every reading.
Your systems
Dashboards, alarms, reports, API, MQTT and PLC/SCADA.
Public, private or hybrid: you choose
Use the network that fits each site, and manage all of them in the same place.
Connect to an operator network
Use network servers such as Netmore, The Things Network, The Things Industries, Actility, Loriot or Helium. Fast to start where coverage already exists.
Run your own network
Install your own gateways and keep the LoRaWAN server under your control. Full control over keys, access and where your data goes.
Mix both
Public coverage for spread-out assets, a private network for critical sites. One platform, one set of dashboards and alarms.
Public vs private LoRaWAN
What changes when you run your own network.
| Public network | Private network | |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | Provided by the network operator | You place gateways where you need them |
| Data path | Via the operator's network server | Stays in your own network |
| Control | Operator sets the rules | You control gateways, keys and access |
| Setup | Fast, connect to existing coverage | Install gateways and your own server |
| Best for | Pilots, wide-area coverage, small sites | Industrial sites, campuses, critical or regulated sites |
Everything you need on top of the network
A LoRaWAN server is only useful if the data ends up where decisions are made.
Ready-made decoders
500+ popular LoRaWAN sensors work out of the box. Missing one? Add your own decoder in JavaScript.
All LoRaWAN regions
EU868, US915, AU915, AS923, KR920, IN865 and more, so the same platform works at every site you operate.
Downlinks and automation
Trigger actions and send downlinks with the rule engine, or build flows in Node-RED and n8n.
Field tools for installers
A LoRaWAN field testing tool and installer tools help you place sensors and gateways right the first time.
Secure by design
Role-based access and security built into every layer. Run it on-premise when data must stay inside your network.
From pilot to thousands
Start with a handful of sensors and grow to thousands of devices on the same platform, without changing system.
Private LoRaWAN for regulated environments
Municipalities, water utilities and industry often need sensor data to stay inside their own network.
Combine a private LoRaWAN network with on-premise Sensor-Online. Sensors, gateways, LoRaWAN server and platform all run in your own environment, with no mandatory cloud dependency. That makes it easier to meet requirements on control over data and suppliers, including NIS2. Compliance remains each organisation's own responsibility.

What is a LoRaWAN server?
A LoRaWAN server receives data from your gateways, handles device activation and security, and passes decoded sensor data on to your application. In Sensor-Online it is built into the platform, so gateways, sensors, dashboards and alarms are managed in one place.
Do I need my own LoRaWAN network?
No. You can connect to a public LoRaWAN network or run your own private network. Many customers use both: public coverage where it is available, and a private network where control or coverage matters.
Which LoRaWAN networks can I connect?
Sensor-Online works with public network servers such as Netmore, The Things Network, The Things Industries, Actility, Loriot and Helium, as well as your own private gateways. All LoRaWAN regions are supported.
How do I add a sensor?
Provision the device with its DevEUI and keys, pick the matching device type, and live data appears in your dashboards. A ready-made decoder translates the raw payload into readable values. If your sensor is not in the library, you can add your own decoder.
Can it run without a cloud service?
Yes. Install Sensor-Online on-premise with a private LoRaWAN network and your sensor data stays inside your own network. Optional features such as e-mail/SMS alerts and AI analysis use external services.
How do I get started?
