Soil Monitoring
ND-SDD Soil Moisture, Temperature & Salinity Profile Sensor
What is the ND-SDD? The ND-SDD is a 600 mm soil profile probe combining moisture, temperature and salinity in six co-located sensors. Volumetric water content is measured to ±0.03 % accuracy and salinity in volumetric ion content (VIC) units — ideal for outdoor remote monitoring, irrigation control, smart agriculture, greenhouses and soil-less plantations, parks and golf courses connected to the yDoc ML-525 datalogger.

Applications
Where the ND-SDD is used
Outdoor remote monitoring
Long-term soil profile data from remote sites for research and operations.
Irrigation control
Salinity-aware irrigation — prevent salt accumulation while optimising water use.
Smart agriculture
Profile-level moisture, temperature and salinity for precision farming and saline soils.
Greenhouses & soil-less
Substrate monitoring in growing media, hydroponics and protected horticulture.
Parks & golf
Smart turf irrigation that accounts for both water and salt accumulation.
Integration
Powered by the yDoc ML-525 datalogger
The ND-SDD connects directly to the yDoc ML-525 datalogger. The yDoc powers the sensor, schedules measurements, stores readings locally and transmits them to the Sensor-Online platform via 4G/LTE-M, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, satellite or Ethernet — with up to 10 years of battery life.
