Advancing Tailings Dam Safety at Boliden Tara Mines, Ireland
Nodeledge ab has successfully deployed 30 AquaTROLL400 multiparameter sensors and IoT gateways around the Randalstown Tailings Storage Facility at Tara Mine.
These sensors continuously monitor water level, conductivity, salinity, pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen, and temperature — critical parameters for understanding seepage, pore pressure, and water quality dynamics within the tailings structure.
By integrating all sensors into our Sensor-Online IoT platform, Tara Mines now gains real-time visibility across the entire facility. The system automatically analyzes data, visualizes trends, and triggers alerts when deviations occur — enabling proactive maintenance and enhanced safety.
This large-scale deployment supports Boliden’s commitment to sustainable, data-driven tailings management and aligns with the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).
